DOG & CAT ADOPTION PROCEDURES
Dog Adoption Procedure:Step One: If you're interested in a specific dog we have for adoption, fill out the online adoption application in the section "Dogs for Adoption". Step Two: If we wish to move forward with the application you will be notified and references with be requested and contacted. You will not be notified at this stage if your application is rejected for this animal. A rejection does not mean you will not considered for another animal in the future, just that the best home for this dog is not with you. Step Three: We will arrange a home visit at your house with all family members present. The dog will not attend this meeting. This is typically 45 minutes to an hour in length. Step Four: We will contact you to let you know if we think you are the right family for the adoptable dog. If you are selected, we will then make arrangements for you to visit our office, meet the foster family and the dog. If all goes well and the foster family feels your family would be the best for the dog, you will take your new best friend home with you. An adoption contract would be filled in and signed and the adoption fee submitted in cash. |

Why An Adoption Fee?
Cats: $200.00
Why An Adoption Fee?
We ask for an adoption fee for several very important reasons.
The first reason is to help us recoup some of our veterinary costs, so we can continue to help more incoming rescue animals in need. Please know that in most cases, our veterinary costs are greater than the adoption fee for both dogs and cats.
Another reason is that it is important for potential adopters to show commitment to their rescue pet, both emotionally and financially.
One of the biggest problems that is leading to pet overpopulation right now is that animals are being given away for free. A huge percentage of "free to a good home" animals end up back in a shelter or a rescue organization. It's very important there is commitment.
